On July 1st, 2018, the European aircraft manufacturer purchased a majority stake in Bombardier’s CSeries program, renaming it A220-100 and A220-300 (formerly CS100 and CS300, respectively) shortly after. The new A220 compliments Airbus’s product range and offers economic advantages over its own A318 and A319 developments.
