Last flying Douglas DC-3 (C-47) in The Netherlands. This particular model shows the last livery she was active in.
The “PBA” was built as a C-47 Skytrain and left the factory on January 11, 1944. On June 6, 1944, she took part in Operation Boston. Later that year, the PBA served in Operation Market Garden.
After WWII, HRH Prince Bernhard bought the plane. And renamed it PH-Prins Bernhard Alpha. From March 1946, the machine served as the first government aircraft. In 1996, it was decided to restore the plane. Two years later, the plane was loaned to the DDA.
